[10] Canadian News Facts, 1985, pg 3244, article "New Rules Cover PCB shipments" refers to the Kenora PCB spill, April 13. The press circus about this spill began on May 15/85 and ran for a couple of weeks. I found front-page stories about it in The Globe and Mail Apr 16, 17 and 18, and inside stories on other days. The Trans Canada Highway was closed from Monday to Thursday and, according to The Globe and Mail, Air Canada refused to carry samples of water that might be contaminated with PCB! Analysis showed that the water samples the airline considered too dangerous to carry were in fact within guidelines for drinking water.
